Today was the first day of diving at Cabo Pulmo. the first dive site we went is called sea lions colony. I saw a few sea kind and seals on the rock at the site. Once we dropped down two big seals came and checked us out from the surface. Then we saw schools of fish.

Shortly into the dive, we came across this huge school of jacks and barracuda. The school was dense like a wall. I was pretty excited as I assume this is close to the signature scene of the Cabo Pulmo Diving.
This site features huge boulders underwater. I don’t see a lot of fish but I am guessing they were hiding inside the crevices, and will come out once the divers left. On the boulders there were clusters of hard corals and sea fans of purple and yellow. Those sea fans are small, palm size.
For the second dive, the boat went all the way north to a site called El Vencedor, the famous shipwreck site. On the surface there were three groups lined and we were the second one. But for some reason the first group was late so we went as the first group.

It turns out we were lucky because we saw turtles and big stingrays, which all left after we got close. I was quite happy to see the huge garden eel field.

I learned that for each dive site there was a quota of how many divers can dive each month. Different dive shops coordinate the schedule. That was pretty amazing how the whole place was well protected while the divers can enjoy the diving.
We didn’t do much after the diving because the weather became very hot. Looking forward to tomorrow’s dive.
