The swell had just passed, so the wave was fairly small. It seemed like the thermocline was at the top of the canyon wall. The water at the sandy flat was like in a hot tub but the visibility was poor. Below the canyon, however, it was the opposite – freaking cold but crystal clear. I was hoping to find Spotted Triopha but didn’t see any.
So here are a few highlights of the dive. At the sandy flat, I spotted this fish trying to hide itself into the sand. It looked pretty cool.
I directly headed to the grassy patch and stayed for the whole dive. A baby sea hare climbed high.
While I was searching for the triopha, I came across this little crab. It looked like a Teddy bear, cute and clumsy.
But a real cool encounter was the two huge navanax, patrolling the grass and trying to mate.
