Accidentally I formatted my memory card before I downloaded today’s pictures. I didn’t take many as I had lots of fun underwater shooting critters with Jackie. Here is her report and the pictures.

LJ Shores – Crap Patch / V Point

Viz: shallows 20’, canyon 15’ with particulates
Surface: a real pain

Weiwei and I attempted to kick out to Secret Garden, to no avail. The strong southerly current, and annoying face slappers made for slow to not going anywhere soon. So we dropped just as the sun was getting ready to set, and headed to Crap Patch first. Nice viz in shallows. The patch was full of teeny tiny Hermissendas, some Sculpins, crabs, etc.
We then moseyed over to VP, were the current was mixed. We came across small Octos, Pipefish, Pyrosomes, Jack Macks, juvie Horn Shark, and the highlight, lots of Lions in the kelp making for some nice visuals as Weiwei provided excellent theatrical-like lighting.
The shallows is carpeted with tons of Sanddollars of all sizes, tons of small Lizardfish, and a nice Stingray allowing for a close-up.
