The big swells recently had hindered any diving. Finally the water calmed down and I headed out for a night dive at the shores. Picked my routine by swimming from the crap patch to the Vallecitos Point.

And here it was again, the gorgeous golden pipe fish. Compared to a few I saw before, this one was smaller but not as shy. I got a few pictures before it descended to the root area of the kelp.

Near the canyon wall, there were lots of calico rockfish. They were normally dark and hard to get good pictures. This one had a good position with bright lighting.

The highlight of the dive was a pair of Dendronotus frondosus, which I had never seen before.
