Headed out to the Hogan with Weiwei G ,Shaun H and Kelly M today .
Surface was flat and we travelled at a good speed until about 5 miles out where the wind picked up and caused a choppy sea.
We dropped anchor at the wreck and geared up .
Weiwei jumped in with his new camera, and dropped down , anxious to play with it
As Shaun jumped in , we noticed a oil slick, and saw the bilge pump pumping out oily water.
I opened the engine cover and the bilge was full of oil !
I checked and there didn’t seem to be any real danger of us taking on water , so I called Vessel Assist and they said it would be an hour and a half at least .
Weiwei surfaced after 10 minutes and said he didn’t see the wreck , he also said the anchor was dragging.
Apparently the wind was strong enough and in the right direction that it drug past the wreck (my cords are next to it and VERY GOOD (thanks Dean;-) We had an hour and a half to sit there so I told everyone to jump in and sea what could be seen .
I stayed onboard to keep an eye on things and they dropped down to look around.
Shun tried to get the anchor to catch in the sand, but it kept dragging …

I believe we drifted , dragging my big Delta anchor for at least 1/2 mile and the Hogan is right next to Mexican waters.
Vessel assist showed up, hooked a line, and allowed us to hook the anchor ball on so we could get the anchor up with it and not muscle.
We started heading back under tow, and water started coming over the bow splashing us so the V.A. guy stopped and let us get our drysuits back on .
