Quick belated report from last night’s dive. Kicked out with Weiwei and Tom G. for a tour of the canyon as same ocean buddies. It was absolutely a fantastic dive, and just remarkable to float in the dark surrounded by massive schools of Jack Macks who were in total feeding frenzy mode for most of the dive.

As I was diving sans gloves, my fingers felt the brunt of the fish’s force as they pinged my fingers relentlessly.

The other highlight was the little Hemphill’s Crab sitting atop some kelp, among the frenzy, grabbing what it could from the water column. Interestingly, not once did a fish plow into it, as it waved it’s little pincers around. Just amazing to watch. Lots of other critters were also out including a Lobster up in the kelp, various Rockfish, a flatfish being devoured by Swimming Crabs, Scorpionfish, Stingrays, Shrimp, etc. A great dive.
