A Search for the Secret Garden

Since I am behind my dive report, I just copied the one from Jackie.  We had a super fun dive and the highlight was Price’s Aeolid – a pair of them.

I also found the eels were really interesting.

Another highlight of our dive was this crazy creature. My first sighting. It was really cool.

There were a lot of critters on the sandy flat and here were a few of them.

Here is the report I copied from Jackie:

Our little trio met within the mosh pit of other fellow divers at V Street.
We decided to check out Secret Garden, which was nice as I could refresh my line-up skills – the right palm frond of the 4th palm tree lined up to the flower pot with petunias on the 3rd window sill of the 2nd square house on the hill…
We dropped into really nice environs, and made our way down slope. The baby Sanddollars have blanketed the area nicely. Secret Garden can be elusive at times, especially at night. Be we kept going, and it appeared. A few lobster dens were occupied, then in the distance, the Gorgonians revealed themselves. Highlight critters include Poachers, Greenlings, various crabs, Cusk Eels, and juvie Rockfish.
We then headed back toward the Crap Patch and spent some time there as well. Lots of crap which was home to many critters; Scorpionfish, Target and Blackspotted Shrimp, lots of tiny Octos, small Sarc. Fringeheads, a few Stingrays, a small squadron of squid off in the distance, and Weiwei found some nudis. Various areas had noticeable pockets of temp differences, but it was fairly clear despite floating snotties, calm and just a nice leisurely long night dive. Now I just need to invest in some video lights!
A great dive.
