Another Dive with Juvenile Rockfish

Headed out to the canyon tonight. Knowing the bad condition in shallow water, I dropped down right at the canyon edge. Area near the wall was murky but became slightly better at depths below 65 ft.

I was about heading to the north when a school of juvenile rockfish gathered around my light. They came in a large number and appeared not shy at all. I believe they were attracted by krill in the light beam. A few vermilion rockfish joined as well. I just couldn’t resist the urge of hanging with these fish, so I stayed and spent the whole dive. The fish appeared in bigger size than the first time I saw them a few weeks ago.

On my way back, the shallow was murky, and the surge picked up a lot. Only the swimming crabs and stingrays enjoyed the swinging sand. A ton of them were out. A fun dive.
