Another Night Dive at the Canyon

Headed out to the shores for another night dive. The surf was still low and visibility pretty good. However, there was a very strong down current sweeping everything in the water column. It felt very strange because I could feel it but I not see it. I noticed this when I was trying to take pictures of the nudibranchs. They all had a hard time to stay attached to the eel grass or the kelp. I followed the same route from the main wall to the V point. A similar encounter like last time with a cute spotted triopha in the grass.

The a snail on the grass caught my attention. Although they were all over the place but very few had a nice angle for photos. This one is nice.

A highlight of the dive was a Hilton’s Aeolid. I haven’t seen this nudibranch for a long time.

It looks like this one is a baby. I spent quite some time taking pictures. As mentioned earlier, the current was pushing down, making it very challenging.

When I got to the V point, I noticed a gathering of the white sea urchins. There were a lot of them recently, but to see the gathering this is the first time.

I turned in to the shore from the point. On the plateau, I came across this strange-looking fish. I think the one I saw before was a juvenile and this one is an adult. I don’t know the name but it was cool.

Despite the current, a great dive!
