I joined Tim this weekend and for the first time, excluding the class training, I sailed out to the open ocean. Just like scuba diving, which gives allows me to get underwater, sailing gives me pair of wings to fly over. The opportunities from sailing to explore the power and the enormity of the ocean, to travel to anywhere I choose, and just simply to get such close contact with the sea make me feel excited. My dream: a sailboat + tanks + a compressor.
We started early afternoon from Harbor Island and headed out to the open ocean. The weather is perfect for sailing so the channel was packed with sailboats. Some of them are gigantic, dwarfing other crafts that pass by.

The traffic and the wind condition in the channel, constantly changing, make the sailing interesting. In the open ocean, the wind becomes a lot more steady, making the voyage a lot easier. We spent a few hours out there before we headed back to the bay. Here is a view of San Diego skyline from out boat.
