Hogan and Train Wheel

Dove the Hogan and the train wheel today. On the way out, the sun was bright and ocean was flat. The channel was busy. We had company with a big aircraft carrier and a few helicopters.

At Hogan, I was the first to jump into the water and found no current. In descending, the water was murky and it didn’t turn clear until I reached 70 Ft. It was clear 30-40 ft visibility, but a bit dark. This time, most of the fish was at the bottom close to the wreck. The anchor was closer to the bow and I took a close look at the structure. I cruised the wreck quite long but didn’t see a wolf eel.

I took a few shots of the wheel sets and left. Inside the cavern the water was clear, visibility about 15-20 ft. Above the reef, the surge was strong and water was hazy 20 ft visibility. But above the crack the surge attracted lots of black smith. There was a large school of sargo swimming in and out of the kelp. In the area where the kelp was dense, there were sheep heads in and out.
