Weiwei and I kicked out through 1-2’surf and calm conditions. We headed north to VP – viz fluctuated, but got dirty brown, with very noticeable current and arctic cold. I signaled that I was retreating back south, where viz re-opened, and more critters were to be found. Weiwei was not far behind.

Topography still seems shifted around, but I think I found the Card. den which is very tiny now. A lone Cardinalfish and a huge Sheephead occupy it. Lots of little dark red colored Octos out, Cowries, Cusk Eels, juvie Rockfish, small Scorpionfish, and a big Tonguefish were out and about.
I watched a Yellow Crab create its den by using its large claw to shove massive amounts of sand away.
Highlight critter was the Snake Eel in the shallows. Very shy, I could barely get a shot of its face before it retreated. A great dive.
