La Jolla Shores Night Dive

A few pictures from tonight at La Jolla Shores. When I got there, it was super windy and cold. The surface was choppy with waves rolling fast. I almost gave up but decided to go anyway…The surf looked intimidating but the waves were all soft. Despite the wind chops, kicking out was super easy. The canyon was a different world – calm and super clear…

On highlight of the dive was a pipefish family on the kelp. For a few months, this big pipe fish has occupied this kelp near the main wall. To my surprise, now it has a family.
