Mission Bay Nudibranch Diving

Headed out to Mission Bay, hoping to get pictures of a few nudibranchs in mind. Once I got into the water, I regretted so much. The water was disgusting: yellowish-green, lots of stuff floating, and no visibility. I knew there was a rock only because my camera hit it. I came back to the surface, wondering whether I should go to the shores, or persevere further out to the channel. I picked the latter. In about 30 ft water, I started to see fish, lots of huge garibaldi protecting their eggs aggressively. For a long time, I didn’t see any nudibranchs. Then I noticed something on the algae. It’s a nudi that I have not seen before (Okenia angelensis).

The nudibranch is tiny and the algae they were on swings with the surge. But I managed to get a few shots.

Then I started to see more and more life on the algae – nudibranchs, skeleton shrimps, and flatworms, all small but in abundant numbers. Here is a pod of Okenia angelensis

We have quite a few species of cadlina and to be frank this is another confusing group of nudibranchs. I might see this one before, but this is my first time to have picture of it.
