Morning Dive at the Cove

Today is Memorial Day and this marks the 4th anniversary of my first dive in La Jolla. I was debating whether I should go to the cove or the shores, and decided to give the cove a try. The condition turned out to be horrible – low viz and very surgy, but there was no turning back. There was quite some young kelp and hopefully they would come soon. Despite the horrible condition, at certain spot the reef looked beautiful.

I was hoping to see much. However, when I got to an area with a lot of boa kelp, I saw one 7-gill up in the water column. It was fast and in no time disappeared. I stayed there for a little while but the shark did not come back.
