Night Dive at the Shores

Here is the report from Jackie.

La Jolla Shores (Tuesday night)
Time: night
Temp: forgot to look – felt like 57
Viz: Yes. It is returning 15’ ++ and somewhat clear in many spots
Surface: somewhat strong pull south in shallows on exit

V Street was packed. Surf was down. Weiwei and I marched into Neptune’s calm domain negotiating no less than 10 sand bars. Some have a good 3’ drop. Up, down, up, down…
Beware when exiting and removing fins as you might still need them.
Shape shifting continues in the canyon, with new boulders, rubble, and cool walls. There are some interesting new layers of colorful pebbles that have revealed themselves.
I saw a mini landslide occur, reminding me to be vigilant when at the base of those high walls.
Highlight color of the dive is still red, due to the ever present Tuna Crab infestation. Highlight critters include several beautiful Seahorses, and a ginormous Banded Guitarfish. Also, Cardinal fish, Cusk Eels, baby Rockfish, a nice sized semi adult Horn Shark, and a Sea Lion who got too close many times and mucked things up.
It was so nice gliding along the sheer canyon walls, all the various ledges and exploring the rubble that I never quite made it to VP. A great dive.
