Point Loma Dive with Steve and Gayle

I joined Steve and Gayle for a trip to Point Loma. As the condition looked pretty good, we decided to visit Dean’s Maze again. Here is Steve’s report on this trip, so I will skip the condition part.

This time, I further slowed down my swim and tried to search the barnacles as hard as I could. Next to a big bundle of kelp roots, I saw a Hopkin’s rose.

Next to the Hopkin’s rose, I found a pair of Porter’s Chromodorid. They two cuddled and looked adorable.

Toward the end, I spotted a flat worm (Eurylepta californica). I saw the same species once before at Ruby E.

Here are other pictures – what a beautiful trip!

Gayle V and Weiwei joined me for a couple dives off Point Loma today.

On dive #2 we dropped down the anchor line and the anchor was at 40 ft up in the kelp, so I had to cut it and get the anchor back on the bottom.

When I finally did, the current on the bottom was pretty strong so I took a couple pic’s and headed back up.

Gayle had headed back up to make sure the boat was (wo;-)manned , just in case .

At 40 ft a large white sea bass circled me three times checking me out .

This is the first time I have had more than a glimpse of one and was very cool !!
