Joined Steve and did two dives at Point Loma. I directly copied Steve’s dive report below and it described details about the trip. We had a great time both on and below the water. The first thing I saw once I dropped down was a MacFarland’s chromodorid. There were plenty of them through the dives.
A few minutes into the dive, Steve flashed his light and I kicked toward him. He was pointing a white sea cucumber to me. This creature mostly was hidden inside the hole but this time it came out and was feeding on a snail. It was a cool sighting.
Near the boulder where we saw the sea cucumber, there was a smaller channel perpendicular to the main channel. Around the corner, there was a patch of sea anemone with strong growth (Zoanthid anemones). The covered a big boulder.

The area looked really cool.
While I was searching for nudibranchs, I also came across this cute blenny (rockpool blenny).
At the cliff on the wall, this bright purple gorgonia was beautiful.

I didn’t even notice a group of chestnut cowrie near the root.
Cruising around the boulders, I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of point Loma reefs.
Then on the wall, I saw this three colored Polycera (Polycera tricolor).

It was a very cool nudi.
In the second dive, we picked the site called ‘Simply Amzaing’, where I hoped to see some spaldingi. Near a ledge, I came across this playful goby.
Another cool sighting was Berthella californica. I saw small ones before but never as big as these.

There were two of them near each other. Very cool sighting.
Finally I found one Doriopsilla spaldingi crawling on the wall.
Here’s Steve’s report.

Weiwei joined me today for a couple nice dives off Point Loma today .
We had nice flat seas and sunshine for our ride out to a spot I haven’t dove in a couple years.
I call it Looney point , Remember this one Kev?
wink emoticonThe surface temp was 63º and surface vis was less than 5 ft .
I couldn’t see my boat when I was 8 ‘ under it !
As soon as we dropped past 25 ft, the vis cleared up to a really decent 30-35 ‘ !
But the temp dropped to 47º .
My face was burning and hands were cold .
This spot has a great little cave with an old ship anchor in it as well as a structure that looks like an alligator head with an old chain wrapped around its muzzle ..
Very cool .
I surfaced 5 minutes before Weiwei and had the opportunity to politely and calmly , with all due patience (as is my way
