Point Loma Dives

Headed out to Point Loma with Steve. Here is the report from Steve.

Weiwei G and Ed Mc joined me today for some Point Loma diving.
We motored out to Deans Maze under June Gloom conditions (no overheating in the drysuits !)
Swells were in the 2-3 ft range with some minor wind chop on the way out, and a little stronger chop on the way back.
Conditions underwater were 15-20 ft vis, very cold water and minor surge/currents .
Dive #2 had us at Christmas reef to enjoy the many hundreds of blacksmiths and a couple rockfish that seemed to be in a mouth to mouth struggle .

Maybe they were stuck !

Great day on and under the water with a couple cool guys.

Here is what I wrote later for the report.

This is from today’s dive. After my first dive, the fiber optic cables to BOTH of my strobes broke (after all the spray bottles on-board either broke or stopped functioning…). Steve played his wild imagination and helped to duck-tape the cable to the holes of the strobes. Believe it or not, one worked throughout the whole dive – a miracle. Then I had one of the best dives in weeks….Below is the fish pair that puzzled Captain Steve and me, and eventually intrigued Cap. Ed (since he didn’t see it) to invite us for fish tacos. We all enjoyed – thank you Ed.
