What a great day to meet and dive with Steve at the Point Loma kelp bed. Instead of writing down the narration of this great experience, I basically copied and pasted Steve’s report with the addition of the pictures. One thing I want to highlight is how beautiful the reefs are at Point Loma – so much color and so much life. During the dive, I was so amazed and felt privileged to have this piece of ocean.

We had flat seas and I made sure I used all the throttle to get us out to the dive site (it has been almost 3 weeks since diving) .

After dropping anchor it became apparent that the current was pretty strong so we opted to head north and after a failed attempt at anchoring by the dive animals club boat, we headed over to Kinane pass .

We finally got in the water after some gear issues,, and were treated to a decent 25-30 ft vis, no current, or surge.

We stopped by the cave and paid our respects to Jim’s memorial thingies, and then headed down through the pass.
