Point Loma Reefs

Headed out to Point Loma this morning with Dive Animal. The ocean was super flat and the sun popped out from the cloud. Maybe it’s the Mother’s Day, there were few boats in the channel and out on the ocean. The first dive was at Ian’s Lunch and this was the first time I came to this site. There was a current on the surface and a few hard kicks were needed to get to the anchor line. The water on the first 20-30 ft was a bit murky but turned pretty clear with ~20-25 ft visibility below. The current was also subdued. The area had lots of ledges with young kelp and big sea urchins. The second dive was at Two Arches. It’s an interesting site. The anchor was next to a small channel with a ton of black smith. The water in the area was gray, not the typical greenish color. I spent a while filming the fish and then realized there were pockets along the channel with even more fish. A lots of young kelp on the ledges. I didn’t move much. It was such a nice site. The water was cold 50 F at the bottom in both dives. Great conditions on both the topside and the bottom.
