The condition at the shores has been pretty bad – big swells came in on late Sunday. Finally it calmed down a lot today. I went back to my small camera and decided to do a leisure dive. It’s been a while since last time I went to the crap patch, so there I went.
With the small camera, I could relax a lot and focus on looking for creatures. Somehow, I had a subconscious mind of seeing a sea horse (due the frequent report of sea horse encounter at the shores recently). When I shined my light to the far end of the crap patch, here it was. A sea horse was right in front of me.

It wrapped its tail on a big piece of kelp. I could tell it’s the same kind as the one I saw last year but more of a juvenile one. It didn’t like my light and tried to hide into the grass. I turned off my light for a little. When I turned it back on, the sea horse went back to it’s original position.
I stayed there for a little while. Then the sea horse turned around and came up to the top of the kelp. This gave me a clean background for a clear shots.

At the top of the slope, I came across a tiny baby giant sea bass. It’s been a long time since I saw one earlier this year. But I couldn’t stay long. The water was also surgy so I took a few snapshots and headed quickly to the shallow.

Other encounters were not uncommon. What a great dive.
