I headed out today with Steve, Gayle, and Janet to dive the boundary wall. I have been longing for the boundary wall for a long time and finally got this rare opportunity.
We launched from the Dana Landing and drove north to La Jolla. Boundary wall is only slightly north of the buoy B. The water looked blue and clear from the surface. After Steve secured the anchor, we jumped off the boat and dropped down by following the anchor line. The initial structure was a big sandy slope and at the end, which was about 90 feet, the wall starts. Immediately I could see the beauty of the wall.
The water was surprisingly clear. the beautiful sea fans and gorgonians grew everywhere, surrounded by a great number of chameleon rockfish. The whole view to me just felt exotic. But the allowable time at the wall was short, as the depth had exceeded 130 ft. I was busy taking videos and probably missed a lot of small stuff such as nudibranchs and the rockfish.
With the significant depth in our first dive, we headed to Quast Rock, which was only a short distance away. The underwater view was very similar to the Cove. But maybe because it’s greater distance to the shore, the water was a lot more clear.

Weiwei G , Gayle V and I joined Janet P for a trip over to her favorite dive site , Boundary Wall.
Dive # 2 was Gods rock.The vis on Boundry was 20-30 ft with best below *** ft.
I think I got some decent pic’s of vase sponges
On Gods rock, we had 20 ft vis with a little surge, and much better up in the top 30 ft.
Critters of the div were a Swell Shark (Found by Janet ) Garabaldi’s guarding nests and a couple big crabs .
The seas were calm on the way out, and a little choppy for the return.
