The Last Dive of April

The Shores was flat today for an easy entry. I got there around the sunset. It was gorgeous. The viz at shallow was poor with lots of stuff floating in the water column. At the canyon, water was clear and crisp with light surges. What a great dive without tuna crab around! The area was finally cleared up and lots of nudibranchs showed up, among different shrimps, crabs, and lots of octopuses.

The highlight of today’s dive was a blackspotted Shrimp (Crangon nigromaculata).

This is a common shrimp at the shores. However, it usually stays at very shallow water, an area that I don’t explore on my way out. Although I do pass the shallow on my way back, I often have had my camera tucked for surfacing. Today I saw one on my way out and decided to take a few shots of it.

I dropped off near the main wall and immediately saw a Cuthona. It’s beautiful and I just could not pass it without a picture.

Here are a few shots of the same fish.

The current picked up at the V point – very strong and gushing current. From there I headed back to the shores. It was a cool dive.
